  • Soloist fret buzz

I got my first "real" guitar a few months ago, a burnt cherry Soloist. The action is super low, which is kick ass, but it is so low that the E A and D to an extent have a buzz like they drank a fifth of Jack. I am NOT a tech by any stretch. What am I looking at? Truss adjstmnt? If so, is it counter clockwise or clockwise. Excuse my ignorance, I just never needed to do so and I don't want to mess up my prized Soloist.

Where do they buzz? On all frets? Only on the high frets? Can you hear the buzz through the amp?

I'd try raising the bridge a little, it's just a couple of allen screws.

Is the bridge currently parallel to the body? If it's tilted back a little, then making it parallel again may fix your problem. (You can quickly test this by tuning a little sharp until the bridge gets level, then see if you still have buzz).

Also, you're not downtuning are you?

        Jay.

I'll fool with it tonight and report back. The Floyd bridge is as level as can be and I'm not down, I'm in standard. I leave the down for my RR24m..down a whole step w-10-52's on it!!! But thats a different matter. I'll get back with you and thanks for the help. You guys rock.

Figure out where on the fretboard the buzz is. Does it buzz on open strings? Lower frets? Higher frets? Only certain strings? There are different things to do depending on the answers to those questions.

what about around the fifth fret!
I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.
