  • J7176 NAMM 08 SLS Custom - pic heavy

Got this baby in today (well, last night after I left for werk):

    J7176 Gretsch Orange SLS Custom

Mahogany body with 1/8" flame maple top with natural binding.

Stringthrough/TOM, gold hardware, V/T/3Way, abalone caps on the knobs, EMG 81/85

AT1 3+3 head, quartersawn oiled maple neck, ebony board, ivoroid neck and head binding.
24 3/4" scale, Speed Neck profile, jumbo frets

Abalone logo, Custom Shop logo, Sperzels

Check out the beveling on the back. It's not a hard scallop like an SL1, it's a tapered carve up to the top, but the bottom is squared like an SL.

    These inlays KILL! Abalone Outlines!

Even got the wall tag from the show

Not sure what "Black Neck" means.

Eternal thanks to Nick at Hiney Pills for the hookup on this one

Beautiful axe, Newc. Very unique, I dig it. Congrats.

One of my Charvels is Vintage Orange - a flametop with a Redrum burst edge. So I can attest that VO is absolutely a killer color in person.
