  • BOSS GT-10 "in da house!

And wow...everyone (including me) who said.."Cant be that much better"
"Not worth the extra $'s over the GT-8"... OH YES IT IS !! First off...
EVH Brown sound... Done! "Erupting"..is a patch, that alone nailed VH
first album..but with some graphic EQ'ing i was able to boost it another
7 or 8db and add some more spaciousness to the Rev.. and it's just dead
on, like being able to sneak backstage and play on the masters rig!
Now, i do need to clarify that the GT-10 is going thru a VHT 2/90/2
rig for "Left" channel...and then thru a EVH 5150 III for the right channel
on "green". So it may be just a bit more impressive in stereo, over say a
Marshall 1/2 stack in mono. The 44.4khz or whatever this audio quality is
now on these, is imo...about 1/3rd better audio quality overall than the "8'.
Then you add really cool presets, (they have done their homework..
Rectifiers...Uber...And given the simple knob tweak idea as if you had
your pedals laid out in front of you, only they are in the display screen
in virtual reality. I was editing, and writing and moving patches around
within a 1/2 hour. ( Havent even opened up the manual yet)
I was thinking that with GC's 30 day return policy
i could check it out, and then return it within 20 or so days, if it didnt
kick the GT-8's ass... Well after 3 hours with it, IT DOES! Im keeping it.
$465.00 including tax today, (the only one available in PHX, AZ)
Havent even gotten into the 39 second phrase sampler, or all the split
effects and foot control options yet, that this unit offers...but it's hands down the
best tone my ears have ever heard. TWICE the GT-8 overall imo !!
Look for 2) GT-8's for sale soon in the Classifieds area !!
My Brother in law is going to shit when he hears the "Erupting" preset !!\

If the $1500.00 "G" force by TC is even better audio quality than this
GT-10..."im not sure i could stand it !

Good to hear. I was kind of thinking about getting a hold of one of these. The response (touch dynamics) on these is supposed to be more real-amp like than previous models. What do you think?

Seems to be "Warm".. and i dont know if this is the right word.."Breathes" better? It does have a REAL Tube amp dynamic
and is "Alive"... my GT-8 seems "Sterile" compared to this 10'.
And i had my GT-8 maxed out with some pretty brutal sounding
tones...only tonight, this GT-10 is a level higher in tone, plus i like
the layout, and ease of moving around MUCH better.

Wow, I am pleasantly surprised to hear this. I am very happy with my ToneLab LE, but now I want to hear a GT-10.

After 24 hrs with it...im even more impressed with it's audio quality.
Just sparkling! And the Phrase looper is simple to use, and a great
practice tool. I moved around pretty good on the GT-8 but this GT-10
is just so simple to navigate on! And the Cleans are to die for!
Easily the best Multi effects unit ive ever heard. A Bargain imo
          for $465.00

                Robert,

How's the tone suckage factor? What I mean is, if you only use it for the FX thru the FX loop of an amp, how does it affect the amp's basic tone? I had a GT-6 that I eventually sold because it changed my amps (Marshall JVM, 30th Anny) tone for the worse.

******* Man, i completely forgot about that! IMO it not only does NOT
suck tone, it may actually add 5% more "clarity"? But does not drop the
                  db in the signal...

                    What!?
so there's no tone loss anymore with the 4-cable method?

If that's indeed the case I'll buy one right next week! Time to retire the good ol' GT5...

Yeah, I picked up a GT-10 from Matt a few weeks ago, too. I really haven't had enough time to play around with it enough, but it's definitely an improvement over the GT-8. The better user-friendly-ness alone is killer.

In the last 2 weeks, ive been fooling with the Para EQ, and ive found
about 30% more "In your face !! Wow...this thing is a monster of Tone!
For SS preamps, it sure sounds warm and near perfect imo. At least
twice the sonic "Stomp" of the GT-8

I've just started getting some really sweet sounds from the GT-8 and now you are giving me gas for the GT-10..

I can imagine that the extra processing power does add both to the amps and effects sounds in this unit...

Sheesh I shouldnt have btoehred with the GT-8 and just opted for the 10 and waited a few weeks more nevermind...
