  • What are some of your favourite covers?

I was just listening to The Metro by System of a Down, and realized what a fantastic interpretation it is. It's so different to the original, but it works so well. For anyone who looks it up, the original is by a band called Berlin. The singer was a super hot lesbian chick named Teri Nunn.

Another of my favourites is Warpigs by Faith No More. I think it's very difficult to do a Sabbath song and get away with it. FNM's version is conservative, in that is doesn't stray far from the original, but still sounds fresh.

Holy Diver by Killswitch Engage is another great one. Of course it doesn't hurt that KE seem to always have monster guitar tones.

Disturbed's version of Shout also comes to mind. I might like it better than the original.
    Sleep!!, That's where I'm a viking!!

Ah, Berlin. I remember them. No More Words. I thought the singer was hot. Didn't they recently get back together?

    KsE's Holy Diver smokes!!!

Disturbed - Land of Confusion. A Phil Collins cover?! They did a great job with it though.

Dokken - One. Love this song anyway, and Reb plays his ass off on it.

Coroner - I Want You (She's So Heavy)

    Opeth - Soldier of Fortune

Gary Moore - Shapes of Things

Living Colour - Memories Can Wait

Nevermore - The Sound of Silence
    Hail yesterday

Most of the Hayseed Dixie covers stuff is damned good (apart from Holidays In The Sun, which is shit).

Ugly Kid Joe did a couple of more than passable Sabbath covers : NIB and Sweet Leaf.

                    AC/DC - Baby Please Don't Go

Iron Maiden - I've Got The Fire

                    UFO - Mystery Train.

MOD - Surfin' USA (or Surfin' MOD, whatever)

                    Slayer - Aggressive Perfector
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

                    I nearly broke her back
