  • Getting screwed in Orlando ...

Just wanna share something I'm going through.

I agreed to buy a guitar (surprise !) from a guy on Craigslist that lives in Orlando, FL. He receives and cashes my USPS money order. Then sends me e-mail stating that he's decided to keep the guitar and will send me the money back. I've e-mailed him several times and he has said, a month ago, "just sent the check out".

Bear in mind, this guy is an accomplished musician that has about 5 CDs out. Website (that recently had the domain expire). I've spoken to him on the phone in the early stage of the deal but has since disconnected that line.

I have his address but I can't get in touch with him. I wish I lived closer to find out first hand what's up.

Don't know what to do .... any thoughts ??

I'd contact the police & whatever authorities deal with wire fraud at this point.

That's right! Postal money order. There's more to it than just small claims.

              That sucks.

Sounds like a "starving musician" isn't starving any more.

I wonder what name he'll use on his next scam?

He's a real guy, he has many CDs out. You can find them online.

Victor Sirker, now I don't mind mentioning his name as he now has me frustrated !!!

I would send him a certified letter also asking for your money back. Give him a certain date to comply and inform him that your intentions if don't receive the money back is to take legal action. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE COPIES of EVERYTHING!!!!

It's only $300.00 but it's the principle of the thing that annoys me.

Absolutely. That sucks. I would go to the post office and see if they can help you in any way. Maybe there is a JCF member that could just ride by his address and see if it even looks occupied...

That happened to me. I got hit for about $220. The bitch sold 5 items on ebay, cashed all the MO's and ran. Her feedback rating was fine until she pulled that. I just wrote it off.
I am a true ass set to this board.

I feel for you. I hope you get a positive outcome...

So what kind of crappy Ibanez were you trying to buy?
                              I'm angry because you're stupid
