Another great Crunch sound there Derek. I was
inquiring a local boutique amp slinger and he
said he could get a Powerball for $2000. Too
rich for my wallet. Great tone once again Derek.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks Ric That guy quoted you too much the Powerball sells for $1599 and the Savage 120 is $1899(close enough I guess). I appreciate you taking the time to listen to it.

How did you record? Mics, placement etc. how many tracks.....

I want to post some clips of the custom amp I am using, but I am afraid that it will sound like
$h!t in a washing machine.

Re: Metal clip!!! Engl Savage 120 and Powerball combined

Kirk and Cleveland Metal here is a rundown of equipment used and how it was recorded.

Guitars:
B.C Rich USA Beast with EMG's - Savage 120
Stock Ernie Ball MM Petrucci - Powerball

Mic:
Sennheiser MD421 MKII

Mic Pre:
HHB Radius 50

Recorder:
Fostex MR8 - For under $300 this little unit really kicks butt for simple basic recordings in fact I got rid of my Korg D1600 and 1200 for it because I am such a recording novice and will never use more than 5% of the more expensive recorders features. If I want to do something more pro I would rather just go to a studio.

Amps:
ENGL Powerball
Engl Savage 120

Cabinets:
Powerball - VHT 4x12 2 greenbacks on top and 2 V30's on the bottom. I used the bottom left V30 for micing the Powerball tracks.

Savage - Splawn 4x12 2 G12H 30's on top and 2 V30's on the bottom. I used the upper right G12H 30 for micing this track.

The recording consisits of 3 tracks of guitar 2 Powerball and 1 Savage which were done seperately. The Powerball tracks were panned medium left and right and the Savage was panned in the middle. The drum track is a little off cause it was added after the guitar tracks in realtime using a Boss DR770.

Thats about it.If you have any more questions I will answer them the best I can.

Thanks,
Derek
