• JCF Contribution #6 - TOP GUN ANTHEM

The theme song from one of my all time favorite movies, "Top Gun", will be the latest JCF Contribution. Here are two versions:

Backing track with no lead guitar

Same song but with my guitar, but without the big solo

So, you have two choices. You can either do the whole thing yourself (Choice 1), or you can add the shreddy solo near the middle-end to save yourself some time and get down to the "real business" (Choice 2). Since I can't shred, I'll have to come up with something else to go where the solo goes.

    Enjoy!

EDIT: Had to fix the links. Thanks to Lev for the heads-up!!

just d/l the first one.. you got them mixed up. The first one has lead and no solo.. and 2nd one is a broken link.

I was just playing that theme yesterday! holy crap. the top gun theme rules.
as far as movie soundtracks I've moved onto The Neverending Story theme song. It's fun. Maybe I"ll throw it in a solo sometime...that'd be sick.

I only just learned the Anthem earlier this afternoon, so bear with me... I didn't know that there were dives and artificial harmonics in the real song!

Crap! I should have stated my gear, hmm? Guess I forgot... oh well!

Jackson KE3 Pro stock Duncan Designed bridge pickup into a Boss GT-6 set on Rectifier Red, into my computer's sound card in mono.

            Why the question?

All I have is solid-state gear.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I actually asked because I honestly wasn't digging you're tone, and figured you were using solid-state stuff. I can't stand most solid-state sounds, they stand out to me like a sore thumb.

Do you have a tube amp, or is all your stuff solid state?

sounds pretty close to the tone in the actual theme. It's not bad at all. imo anyway

Yeah, you nailed it pretty well in terms of playing and the tone sounds real close for solid state, but i cringe whenever i hear that solid state sound.
