Damnit, your backing tracks are ALWAYS so killer sounding... that drum machine is wicked. And your rhythm tone is HUGE.

D-Mo! Another killer backing track. I'm getting quite a collection of jam material here, largely courtesy of your efforts. I just wish I could do any of them justice enough to actually lay down a recording. Inspiring stuff all the same

Dokkenish, maybe. But I had Halford singing "Out in the Cold" in my head over the dirty version

dm,

are these tracks sampled at 44Khz? I tried to use another one of your tracks before, my recorder samples at 32KHz, whenever I convert something the pitch is way off.
Any suggestions?

Most of his are in Eb, but this one's in E because it uses Lousiffer's intro mp3.

Re: jcf contribution 5

I think it is the conversion from .wav to my recorder's format that is the problem. I have to first convert .mp3 to .wav and then to my recorder format. Comparing the original mp3 file on this board vs every step in the conversion process, they always match until I transfer it to my recorder format. This step always results in a MAJOR speed and pitch shift. It is now much slower(about 75% original speed) and much lower in pitch, like someone running a tape recorder at 3/4 speed.

If you would convert one of my mp3s on the board to your recorder format and then play it back, I think it would be sped up considerably if you compare it to the original mp3. Can someone try this and let me know?

Thanks

dm,

I am as lost as you are! I record into a cheap 4 track and then dump it on my computer also.

My problem is not the mp3 to computer part of it, but the transfer of someone elses mp3 back to my recorder from my computer. On my computer everyone's mp3 is fine and at the proper speed. Once they are on my recorder they are way off. I'm stuck.

AAAARGH!

damnit...another one cool track man...I need more than 24hrs in a day I always convert these to wav and import into guitar tracks pro and don't have any pitch change issues.

Now I don't know which one to do first...this one or the #4

Instead of converting to wav then dumping it out to your recorder, run your sound card's output to your recorder's input, record it in its mp3 form, do your thing on the recorder, then dump it back into the PC.

Newc, I couldn't get your mp3 to work. It says "Gateway Timeout".

As for the recording issue with a wav conversion, I have a recording program called Vegas Audio that I just open any mp3 (or whatever other sound file) into and record as many tracks on top of it as I want. The program is pretty intuitive and quick to record and mix stuff. It even has "studio-quality" effects (yay!) included.

newc's right...most of mine are in 1/2 step down, that's what i normally tune to, this one is in standard because A)lou's intro was in standard and b) that's what the dragon is tuned to right now....as far as sample rate??? i know they're 128kbp but i don't know the sample rate, my mp3 converter isn't the best...hmmm....d.m.
btw newc, nice solo...

Are you downloading it first or trying to open it from the 'Net?
Could just be a bandwidth issue.
