I could be wrong, but just play things you normally would play in E minor, shifted up two frets. Voila, instant key change from Em to F#m. So, move all your "boxes" up two frets and you're there.

relative minor of A Major. 3 sharps..order of shpars go F# C# G# to make it harmonic minor raise teh 7th E#=F natural.

or play melodic minor...so when you're using ascending patterns raise teh 6th and 7th degree...D# and E# respectively...and lower them back a half step as you use descending patterns. hours of fun, finding what sounds best to you and wha tyou're looking for.

              F#m: 2 4 4 2 2 2
              G#m: 4 6 6 4 4 4
              A: x 0 2 2 2 0
              B: x 2 4 4 4 2
              C#m: x 4 6 6 5 4
              D: x 5 7 7 7 5
              E: x 7 9 9 9 7
              F#m: x 9 11 11 10 9

                  Re: F sharp minor song.

The II chord is diminished.. so on the G#minor you flat the 5th.

The IV chord is minor. So it would be Bminor instead of Bmajor.
