  • Jason Becker - Altitudes

Alright, I've always though of this as my "Holy Grail" in terms of guitar work, and I'm trying to learn it now.

I'm having a little trouble with the first section, before he switches over to the really clean tone. Specificly the fingering on the parts where he switches from a long bend and then right into a really fast run. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, any tips for the transition? It's just not sounding right, there's too much time between the parts as I have it now and it seems like there should be an easier way. Maybe my tab sucks but I think it's pretty accurate.

I'll probably follow up on this periodicly as I progress through the song.

    Thanks dudes...

Well, first off good luck, that song has probably some of the fastest licks i've even seen in it. The first guitar parts are in 6/8 (6 over 8) time, in that section. In those parts, he'll go al the way from quarter note, all the way up to 36th notes (maybe even higher), so the transition isn't going to be easy, and probably won't sound right. As i said before, good luck!
