<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Here's a little food for thought: If you have the technical ability to sweep, you should know enough theory to go with it to come up with your own exercises/licks!

Not putting you down, but this way you can come up with stuff of your own that is original to YOU and will help devlop your own style, instead of cribbing stuff off of other guitarists.

Here's a little sweep/tap lick I came up with and use permutations of from time to time ...

-----------------------------10--14---T17-sl19-sl17
-------------------------10-----
---------------------11---------
---------7----12-----------------
----9--------------------------
10------------------------------

tap is with middle finger, slide it from the the tapped 17th fret A to 19th fret B back to A and then reverse the arpeggio. This is a D major shape with an added 6th (the B note you slide to).

try www.lefthandhack.com

look for lessons and you should see a load of powertab....check out my Kotzen arp powertab......or jjw's major licks(there is a great string skipping major arp that mutates and gets better sounding as you play it)

Re: Sweeps + tapping

There's some great arpeggios with tapping in the solo on Jason Becker's "End of the beginning".

The tab is online somewhere.

This has to be one of the oldest thread resurrections I've seen yet.

OK, now I MUST go back and bring back to life an older one...

This actually makes for great sport

But we need rules... hmm

X1, set us up with some, so we can all play fair

"Wow,... that was some of the hardest rockin ever. Hardest to listen too."
