  • Auditioning for Metal Band

I'm auditioning for a Christian metal band that sounds very much like "Ride the Lightning" era Metallica. I'm going to the first practice without any premade solo's in mind... does anyone have any tips for improvising in this type of metal? I think I need to use harmonic minor, but have yet to learn it.

learning the harmonic minor would help making your sound more interesting than just playing through blues scales and pentatonic scales, try mixing all the scales you know together, also just keeping practising and make up some improvised solo's (recording every time you play your own solo)
