• Duane Allman, Bird Call lick?

Well my friend recently introduced me to the mighty Duane Allman bird call lick, has anyone else heard this? I imagine you have, if not it's the very last thing heard in Layla, you have to turn the volume high.

This brings me to my question, how the hell does he do that!? Any help?

I'm not sure which lick you're talking about exactly re: Layla

But could it be the trick where you use a slide to push the strings down onto the pickups to make a kind of chirping sound?

He uses a slide real high up on the high e string to do that. My old man always wanted me to learn how to do that when I first started to play leads. It's easy!

Could post a sound file of themself doing this? This is the best trick ever.

Similar to the above answer but he just gets real close the bridge will his finger slide and drags it doesn't he? Is that it? Works for me
