  • Trem bar question...

Cliff, check out the Trem Info Project thread in this forum to see the different Floyd trems Jackson have used over the years. The Model 4 should have the JT6. I believe the Model 2 will have some kind of Kahler, but I'm not absolutely certain about that - the only Model 2 I have owned has a Gotoh licensed Floyd.

You can buy a collared bar assembly to replace the pop-in bar you have. It includes the bar and the collared base.

BTW, you can retro fit the standard (shaller) (outside screw/cap style) very easily. and if you have any problem, just break out the dremmel tool.

i did it to 2 diff jt-6's not too much trouble at all.

        Trem bar question...

I recently picked up a couple of charvels, a model 2 and a 4. Had a couple in the late 80s, sold them and played les pauls. My question is, where can I buy a thread-in bar for the bridge? I hate the standard jackson pop in bars. The model 2 is an 87, and the 4 is an 88. I think they have the JT-6 on them, im not sure.
Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

Check Stew-mac or Elderly instruments, both have lots of parts, and the kit is fairly cheap. Off hand I want to say in the 15 dollar range. Should be an easy swap. Your local music store should be able to get them from WD or mighty mite or one of the parts distributors.
