  • Cleaning Cables...

I have noticed what appears to be some oxidation on my cable jacks from being down in the basement so long. What is the best way to clean them? Is it safe to use anything abrasive on the plug itself?

Stew Mac sells a cool little cleaner just for that purpose. It will clean the plug as well as the jack.

That ConducTool is cool! You can clean jacks as well as plugs and it actually improves signal transfer. Not that much $ either, assuming the tool lasts a long
        time.
