  • re-inlay a Bond rhoads?

What's the deal with these things....are the inlays some sort of fancy sticker, if I remember correctly? If you remove them are you left with a big circle in the fretboard? Possible for my favorite Luthier to cut inlays that would fit back in the empty hole and still look nice? Or easier to have him cut some wood out for big block inlays?

    I like where you're headed with this...GMTA.

I've also been thinking about this, and think I would go for block inlays. It would probably be easier to route them out, rather than filling them in with wood and attempt to make that look good. It depends a little on how far apart the 12th fret inlays are though.

Well now Kevin has sold the original CS guitar the sig model was based on, maybe they'll consider making the change....

A while back, someone from Jackson, I think John, asked everyone what they liked/disliked about the KBRR. All of these sentiments were expressed to him.

The bottom line is, you can't please everyone. Me, I'd rather it had sharks or rev sharks.

Those goofy inlays were what ultimately made me walk away from it, despite the fact that it sounded great. I couldn't help but notice that inside the pentagrams (where it should be ebony like the rest of the fretboard) it was really shiny, like the whole thing was one piece. Just looked jenky to me.

You guys saying that's some kind of sticker???

Blank ebony for me.BUT pearl block inlays would look cool as hell and leave the pentagrams on the 12th.Just an idea.I want a red/black KBRR bad.
If I find one it will get a top mounted floyd.

That is if the nut conversion is not too difficult I hate to have to grind on the truss rod nut.
