  • Anyone looking for EMG wiring diagrams?

I'm just in the process of installing some EMG 81 & 85's into my new (to me anyway) 1990 Jackson Soloist Archtop Pro, and to make sure I'm wiring it right, as I'm eliminating the tone control, I did a search and came up with this site.
    http://www.sonic.net/~emgman/wiringbook.html
The most EMG wiring diagrams I've ever seen!
Not sure if this information is new to anyone other than me, but these wiring diagrams cover a lot of applications.
I hope the new EMG's will make my Jackson sound better than the hums that came with it.
It's an absolutely gorgeous guitar! With the carved flame maple top and beautiful craftsmanship, it's as nice as any SL2H I've seen, actually nicer, however the sound doesn't match the looks (yet!).

Not to sound like an asshole or anything, but EMGs are so incredibly simple to wire up I've never even looked online for a diagram.
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

Really? EMG 89's coupled with a few SA's, a five way, a push/pull and an expander don't seem simple to me. But then again, this is the first time I'll be doing my own pickups, so I'd rather get it right than to screw something up.
The 85 and 81 won't be difficult at all to wire, but there are a lot of combinations in those diagrams that aren't nearly as straightforward.
Might be of help to someone who's looking to wire more than just a couple of humbuckers.

"the pickup wires that get soldered on the volume case"

Only the pickups braided sheilding gets Soldered to the
                    volume control casing.

"Like that two-pronged dotted wire that goes away from the battery clip, where does that lead to?"

Look at this pic. They connect to the Pickups.

Maybe if you have a background in electronics. The average person who is wiring a guitar for the first time probably needs all the help they can get. I know I did.
