  • floyd rose swap to floyd pro

i have a jackson usa sl2h and would like to know if anyone can offer any advice on swapping out the standard floyd for a floyd rose pro or other similar quality LOW- PROFILE trem. i would like to know if id have to route anything out or if the plate would fit in the current recessed cavity..etc. thanks

    String spacing is different. http://www.floydrose.com/pro.html

Why would you want to change the Original Floyd to the Pro model anyway?

because it's a low profile trem?

the major thing is the spacing of the studs, they are not same therefore are not swappable....btw the OFR is the bettter trem, why dick with perfection

I haven't tried a floyd pro but I guess it should have the same quality with the OFR. Just different profiles...

I thought the stud post spacing was the same, just the string spacing is a tiny bit different.

                    +1
I remember an older thread where I dug out my Kramer Proaxe w/the pro and my ESP M1 with the OFR and I measured the same exact stud spacing. We noted at the time the thinner saddles that give the closer string spacing.

You can see how the saddles on the OFR are right next to the stud screw, but the Pro has more room.

Cool stuff. I must have missed the old thread with those pics.
