  • new pots for my RR pro

Hey guys I have a 1992 Japanese RR professional Neckthru, it came with EMG 81’s. I happen to not like active PU’s and I got them out. EMG’s come with 25k pots. Now I bought some new Dimarzio’s (X2N/Paf Pro) which I want to install. Passive PU’s work with 250/500 k pots so I also bought new pots. When I received them it occurred to me the shafts of normal Gibson style CTS pots does not fit the cut outs in my aluminium Rhoads pickguard since they are too wide. Which slim shaft 500k pots would fit my Rhoads? And where can I buy them?

      Try here. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electron...Pull_Pots.html

I would also contact the board sponsers on this site as they may know the correct parts application you're looking for, and be able to order them/have them in stock. http://www.jcfonline.com/dealers/

Allparts makes both the larger pots and the smaller pots. You should be able to get them in your local guitar shop or even on eBay. Check their website for the "mini pots" they sell:

Also I replaced my "mini pot" 500K vol pot in my RR3 with a "mini pot" 1 Meg ohm pot and it sounds great. Using the 1 meg really "opened" up the sound of my Duncan Distortion. Makes it sound similar to an EMG 81 without the "active" electronics and but with more mid freqs.

        Hope this helps!

Thanx man! definately...so the correct term is "minipot". I didn;t knew that, just ordered some standard CTS pots.

          Cheers!

I'll try the 1 meg ones.
