  • Recess or not Recessed/Tuning stability

Is it just me or does anyone else notice that their recessed Floyds maintain tuning stability better then the non recessed. Maybe it's just the way I rest my hand but i could sware the recessed hold tuning better?

I never had a problem with either.

nope. I had my Model 2 put away for about a year and when I finally pulled it out again, it was perfectly in tune. Solid as a rock

Definitely not, they´re both rock solid.

It´s most likely the way you hold your hand, as from a physics standpoint the trem shouldn´t care the least bit whether it´s recessed or not.

Me neither. But I have noticed on occasion that my guitar with the recessed floyd does have to be tuned more often than my Model 2 with the top mount floyd. But then my Model 2 is just about the most "perfect" guitar that I own. (IMO)

I had more tuning problems with my recessed ones, but that was due to crappy bridges and locking nuts.

That's my experience too. My recessed trems are all Jackson or Charvel models and on my cheaper guitars. They seem to be a bit more unstable.
