• My sons first guitar (help)

I want to get him a fixed bridge Jakson and he has about $600 to spend. What models are the best bang for the buck?

you may get lucky and find a used US Jackson for that much, but you'll have a much wider selection if you look for import Jacksons & Charvels.

Any of the Model series or Toothpaste logo Charvels will be well within budget, as will most of the Professional & Performer series Jacksons, if you don't mind buying secondhand.

Dinky HX or Stealth HX. They're from '94, not too many out there, but great if you can find one.

That's what I was going to say, but he wants a fixed bridge. I don't think I've ever seen a model series without a trem.

SLSMG, or a RR5 if your lucky.

Wouldn't string-thru models be just as well?

What Model series guitar is non-trem is what I'm getting at. I've never seen one without a Kahler or Floyd of some kind or another.

Well would you not consider a 750xl a Model series guitar? They're available for under $600, if you're not too picky.

Ok, so they're pro's, but does it matter.

They are very light and great playing guitar.
Would be very nice for your son.
You could find used one for around $600 or so.

After the small logoed, numbered Model series, I'm just not that familiar with the Charvel import line. I honestly thought a non-trem one didn't exist.
